CLASSROOM OCEAN MURAL: A VOLUNTEER PROJECT

In our lives we meet certain people who feel like pure kindness. They give so much in loving acts of service. They do so with such a joyful commitment; their commitment to give more than take. Every day you can feel it in their hearts, and see it in their interactions. They are out here having a consistent, positive impact, making the world and their communities better. Samantha Campbell is one of these people. It has been an absolute joy for myself and a great privilege to work with her and Russell Arnold, my fiancée, on an educational mural in her classroom.  

Russell is one of these people, himself. He is a kind soul and I remember that was one of the first things Samantha said to me about him. Russ is generous in sharing his positive, supportive, resourceful attitude to help whenever he can, with friends or a stranger. He embodies these qualities in his joyful generosity of his time and experience. His energy is such a wonderful and supportive contribution to the mural project, putting the love into learning and painting alongside me. Together, with Samantha, we share a vision, to build a fun, educational, beautiful, little underwater world here in the classroom. I am grateful for this delightful opportunity to volunteer my artistic experience, time, and creativity to bring her vision to life, together.

 In Samantha’s classroom there hangs a sign that reads “The Future Of The World Is In This Classroom” and that’s what it’s all about.
